ISLAMABAD: Another worry for the public, after the hike in electricity prices, gas prices are set to rise.

According to the sources, the Ministry of Energy has informed the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) that the work on gas prices is in progress.

Sources in the Ministry of Energy say that the increase in gas prices will be done anyway as a letter has been written to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in this regard and it is being evaluated whether it will be beneficial. . Or not. no. will be done. Which slab of consumer gas will be more expensive? 

According to sources, gas is already very expensive for domestic consumers of 300 cubic meters and above per month, efforts are being made not to touch the last three most expensive gas slabs.

According to Ministry of Energy sources, the current price is Rs 10 per mmbtu. 1100 per mmbtu per month for gas consumption up to 300 cubic meters, the cost per mmbtu is Rs. But at Rs 3100 per mmbtu, there will be a gas price adjustment for all other slabs and sectors, which will try to reduce the burden on the remaining domestic consumers.

Sources in the Ministry of Energy say that the details of the hike in gas prices are likely to be presented to the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) next week.
