Banks to observe normal banking on June 24: State Bank

Bank branches will observe regular banking hours till June 24 (Saturday) at 5:30 pm to facilitate the collection of government duties and taxes while an online payment facility will also be ensured around the clock.

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said in a statement here on Monday that all the branches of the banks which will remain open on Saturday will observe regular banking hours till 5:30 pm. On June 24, 2023, to facilitate collection of taxes through Alternative Delivery Channels (ADCs) over the counter (OTC) facility.


The statement said that this step has been taken to facilitate taxpayers in payment of government duties and taxes at the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

It is worth mentioning that the Eid-ul-Azha holidays fall on the last days of the current financial year.

As usual, all banks and financial institutions are likely to have gazetted Eid-ul-Azha holidays, and bank closures on these days will require taxpayers to submit their taxes and duties before the holidays.

The central bank further advised all banks to ensure round-the-clock (24/7) availability of their online payment facilities i.e. internet banking, mobile apps, ATMs, etc. to enable taxpayers to pay government duties and taxes online. Ease of online payment.
