NEW YORK The International Monetary Fund (IMF) declined to comment on Imran Khan’s detention on Thursday, claiming there was no evidence Pakistan tried to stymie negotiations.
In response to Bloomberg, an IMF representative stated that talks with Pakistan were still underway and that their goal was to conclude the ninth review of 2019.
According to the IMF spokeswoman, the government has agreed not to subsidise petrol. Statistics from the Fund show that a $2.6 billion debt from the IMF project is yet unpaid. June marks the program’s conclusion.
