The Supreme Court has received the ECP report.
SC was told of the government’s unwillingness to contribute money.
ISLAMABAD: After analysing a report about the allocation of resources and security personnel for the Punjab elections filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the Supreme Court is set to issue a ruling today.

The highest court had instructed the electoral commission to inform it of developments surrounding its election order by April 11, according to a story that was published in The  HP News today.

The panel informed the court in a one-page report that the interim Punjabi government had only sanctioned 75,000 security personnel out of the 300,000 requested, and that the government had not disbursed Rs21 billion as required by the Supreme Court.
According to reliable sources, CJP Bandial will discuss the non-implementation of its ruling with his other judges today in light of the report provided by the ECP and is likely to make an appropriate order.

The federal government refused to give the funds necessary to hold the elections in Punjab, thus the ECP on Tuesday filed the report on the non-provision of election funds in accordance with the highest court’s ruling.

The report was sent in a sealed envelope to the SC Registrar’s Office and delivered to the offices of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Ahsan, and Justice Munib Akhtar.
