Senior Vice-President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz, who is well known for her fiery political speeches and digs, took a vacation from politics on Wednesday to prepare for iftar in Ramadan.

A fruit chaat was made by the PML-N lawmaker, who also serves as the party’s main organizer, hours before iftar time.

Maryam took a break from her harsh political character and gave her Twitter followers a look of a very different side of her.

The party’s scion used the microblogging platform to upload a video of herself creating the delicious Ramadan snack for breaking fast, giving everyone a glimpse into her kitchen.
With her friend and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb by her side, the party’s primary organiser was spotted throwing fruits in a dish, breaking from her often severe demeanour.

Maryam was seen combining the fruit salad with a colleague who was adding pomegranate seeds while the minister added some spices to the mixture.

Iftar preparations and what fruit conversation is there without! She stated in her tweet, “Sirf siyasat nahi kerte ([We] don’t only practise politics.

The PML-N leader emphasised that although politics keeps her busy the most of the time, she also likes cooking.

Maryam, who was wearing an icy blue shalwar kameez, appeared pretty put together as she quickly made fruit chaat, a dish that is a mainstay in most Pakistani homes during Ramadan.

In a single day, Maryam successfully completes the task at hand while defying the gender stereotypes that society has established for women.

The PML-N stalwart was performing her political responsibilities earlier today when she spoke at a convention of lawyers in Rawalpindi and criticised Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial for his comments against lawmakers during a hearing of the Punjab election delay case.

“You [CJP] made fun of the MPs when they discussed the law and the Constitution.

Do you get how arrogant it is to be imprisoned for a belief system? She spoke.
