Nawaz Sharif, a former prime minister and the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is anticipated to spend the last few days of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia, where he is said to have been invited as a royal guest to make the journey.

According to media reports, there has been talk that Sharif would take advantage of this chance to go back to Pakistan.

After receiving a seven-year sentence on corruption charges and being granted interim release by the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Sharif departed for London on November 19, 2019.

After being removed from office by the Supreme Court in 2017, Sharif, whose Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is the dominant party in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), departed for medical treatment in London two years later.

Sharif’s plans to return to Pakistan have not been officially confirmed by him or his party, but his journey to Saudi Arabia as a royal guest has stoked speculation about a possible political comeback.
